While I know that it isn't a true Japanese katana (this would be a showato, and not made using proper katana making methods of old), I am more interested in the sword as a piece of history. The sword has a serial number on the blade, and a matching number on the scabbard. Sub/mod bashing is not productive and will be met with a ban. Contact mods if you have a complaint. In years past I picked up a WWII Japanese NCO sword that is obviously of the machine made variety, serial numbers and all. While I know that it isn't a true Japanese katana (this would be a showato, and not made using proper katana making methods of old), I am more interested in the sword as a piece of history. The sword has a serial number on the blade, and a matching number on the scabbard.

Is there anywhere or anyway to find out who was issued this sword based on the serial number? I've always wondered who used the sword.
