Thanks for your attention and suggestions. Let me restate that all of this started to appear after I updated the original Window 7 to 10.

I followed your suggestions,however

-using method 1: after typing ' troubleshooting' the following error appeared:

Maybe I do not have 'troubleshooting' in my Window 10 (updated from the original Window 7)

-using method 2:

I then tried to use the Life Frame. It did not work because of a message which said: 'the camera is used by another program'.

Thank you for the reply.

Suggest you to completely uninstall the USB driver and reinstall it to check if this helps.

Follow these steps.

• Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

• In the list of devices, you should see the USB device.

• Right click on the device driver and then select 'Uninstall'.

• In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.

In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will force the computer to recognize any hardware changes. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

Thanks for your suggestion. However nothing changed.

Note that since I did not know which USB device you referred ( and I have two devices marked as USB -see A and B descriptions sent in the previous reply), I followed your directions addressing:

-first the device A . I tried Life Frame to see if anything changed. I got the same error 'the device is used by another program'.

-second the device B second (note with the device A uninstalled). I tried Life Frame to see if anything changed. I got the same error 'the device is used by another program'.

Any additional suggestions will be appreciated.

I implemented your recommendation. However nothing changed.

Note that because I have two devices identified as USB (see device A and device B in the previous reply to you) I did the following:

-addressed the device A first. Same error code. Also I tried Life Frame and I got the same error 'the device is used by another program'.

-addressed the device B second (with device A uninstalle). Same error code. Also I tried Life Frame and I got the same error 'the device is used by another program'.

Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for all the suggestions and time dedicated to this problem. However nothing worked and I concluded that I am not the only one with problem and I lost any hope to resolve it. The two manufacturers involved (ANSUS for the laptop and the Kyocera for the 206ci WIA driver) are not interested to upgrade the driver device to be compatible to Window 10 and without that any fix will be out of reach to a common user like me. ASUS has lost a client for the next generation of laptop.

I upgraded to Windows 10 on a HP Pavilion Product name: p7-1080t with a HP all-in-one printer HP Officejet 6500 E710a-f.

I have updated all drivers and software. I can not print or scan after I upgraded to Windows 10. My PC does not seem to recognise that the HP printer is attached to it. I tried the solutions at the HP website, which basically was to update the drivers and/or software. This did not work.

HP has a new printer and scanner software called print and scanner doctor. Unfortunately when I tried to install this, I received the following error message: '7- zip' is in the upper left corner of the error message. The body of this message says: 'This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator.'

So, I have two problems: 1.) the printer/scanne issue and 2.) the software installation that is blocked by 'group policy.' How do I fix these issues?
