I have a Dell DE051/Dimension 1100 desktop that I recently reformatted and installed Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) on - well, everything says it’s Win7-Pro although Belarc tells me it’s Windows Vista Business (build 7600) - but that’s probably a red herring(?).Anyway, since the new OS installation the Dell E228WFP monitor displays at 800x600 resolution (thereabouts) only and cannot be changed: Control Panel -> Personalization -> Display options tell me this is the only resolution available and all other options are unavailable. It’s connected to the on-board VGA monitor adapter. It worked fine under Windows XP-Pro previously.Windows 7 has installed what seems to be the correct driver - it’s displayed in Device Manager (and Belarc) as the correct model Dell monitor ID on the standard VGA adapter port and I’ve even installed the correct driver from the Dell Support site (R144815.zip from http://supportapj.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?releaseid=R144815&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=193161 )… this is a Vista driver for the monitor - there’s no Win7 driver available at http://supportapj.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/ap/shared/support/product_support/en/monitor_download?c=ap&l=en&s=gen&~ck=anavml

I’ve also swapped the monitor and plugged in another Dell monitor and get exactly the same issues which suggests it’s not the monitor at fault here?

When I go to the ‘Advanced’ button on the ‘Settings’ tab, click the ‘Adapter’ tab, the ‘List all Modes’ button is disabled (Greyed out).

I’d REALLY appreciate help to resolve this resolution issue!
